		<description>Dennis
I was at Thunder 3 and as it so happens was in the truck following the one which hit the mine killing the 5 soldiers from NH. I helped provide security until the med-evacs could get in to assist but as you well know to no avail. I have lived the past forty years with the memory of that day. Although I did not know any of the soldiers killed I have thought of them many times over the years.

I returned to VN in Jan with my son and my wife to visit some of the old places I had been and stood not to far from where the mine was hit. Said a prayer for those killed that day and all the others killed in NV also. I have no ghosts from that time but felt good about about having gone back and just seeing some of the country again.

Have enjoyed your articles. FYI I was the Chief of the FDC of the 105 battery in Thunder 3 when this all happened and was on my way to Japan to meet my brother who was serving in Korea. I was later wounded and lost a leg in VN and am now 100% disabled although still quite active. Keep writng the articles.

God Bless.</description>
