For 4 years I've been saying, that the country is ready to switch from a conservative heading to a liberal heading with the 2008 presidential election. For 4 years I've said that barring a stunning act of stupidity this election is a lock for the democrats.

And whenever asked for an example of a 'stunning act of stupidity' I would say, "if the Dems try to foist on the American voters a pandering campaign stunt like running a black or female candidate." Honestly, I've been saying this for 4 years.

And I can't even be angry at the Republicans, because I think that they are just as stunned. I think they knew that there was no way they could win this election, (unless the Dems do something stupid).

So rather than put their best boy out there to lose, they picked someone at the end of their career, (and life). Because it wouldn't matter when he lost. They could put their best boy out there in 2012.

You want to know why McCain is always smiling? It's because he knows that he was supposed to take a dive; but now suddenly he has a shot at the title.
